Lake Lure is a 104ft deep, 717 acre, 1.2 sq mile lake that has been the backdrop for major Holywood productions including Dirty Dancing, The Last of the Mohicans, Thunder Road, and Careful What You Wish For. The Town was also named the "South's Best Lake Town" by Southern Living in 2022. It is a beautiful and peaceful retreat to enjoy God's creation surrounding you on all sides

There are numerous hiking trails around Lake Lure. One of our favorites is known as 'Party Rock'. Visible from our driveway this more strenuous hike leads to amazing views of the Lake, the Island, Chimney Rock, and for seemingly 100 miles. We think it is worth the climb!

A gem of the area is Chimney Rock. Visible from the front deck, this State Park is worth a visit for first-time guests. There is a fee to access the park. Details about the park, trails, fees, and activities there are in the link.

The Lodge at Lake Lure - after recently coming under new management this beautiful locale has undergone some serious upgrades. Just a quick walk from the house and you can have an amazing dinner and drinks.
La Strada - a quick drive into the Town of Lake Lure and look left just before the beach and you will find this Italian Restaraunt peched on the hill. Good food, a great view, and good company make this a great place to visit for dinner or lunch.
